Stunning pictures show the moment more American planes landed at RAF Fairdford

As previously reported, four B-52s returned to Fairford on Thursday.

But new photos from Ash Bennett show other aircraft arriving too.

The stunning pictures show a Lockheed C-5M Super Galaxy arriving at around 6.30am, shot using a Nikon d7100.

The iconic aircraft are used to transport cargo and personnel.

Also captured by Ash were U2 spy planes.

Nicknamed the "dragon lady", they travel at high altitudes - up to 70,000 feet - for intelligence gathering.

It comes as tensions mount between NATO and Russia over a rumoured invasion of Ukraine.

However, the US Air Force said earlier in the week that the movement of bombers were part of normal rotation of American aircraft.
