Theshold's annual Big SleepOut for the Homeless is shaping up to be the biggest and best event the homeless charity has organised to date.

145 people have already signed up to sleep out at the Supermarine Sports and Social Club on Friday night after last year's coronavirus restrictions meant participants had to 'sleep out' in their gardens at home.

The aim is to raise awareness of the plight of the homeless as well as sponsorship.

There will be music from Emily Price, The Voice's Phoebe Maddison and Jimmy Moore and plenty of food available including curries and pizzas.

A full English breakfast will be waiting for participants who brave it through the night.

Kevin Parry said: "We currently have all ages from 6 to 84 signed up. People find it really special that they have the opportunity to sleep outdoors under the stars.

"The experience is so humbling, it really does give you an appreciation of what it must be like for those living on the streets. When you wake up at 3am in the morning in December it gives you a sense of the reality of it."
