Police are appealing for information after a boy reportedly fired a catapult at a pheasant from a car in North Dorset.
The car, with three people inside, is believed to have travelled to Wiltshire after the incident on November 19 at 3pm in the Tarrant Rawston area.
The boy, who is believed to be aged between 12 and 14, allegedly leaned out the car window and took aim at the pheasant. The car was reportedly a silver Daihatsu Charade with the registration V452 FCR.
Inspector Simon Perry from Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this matter and I am appealing for anyone with information to please contact us.
“We have made efforts to trace the vehicle involved, but these have so far been unsuccessful and I would urge anyone who comes across it to get in touch.”
