A man has sustained serious head injuries after being hit by a car in Tetbury yesterday (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to Long Street at 5.30pm with a report of a crash involving a black Audi TT and a pedestrian near to Close Hotel.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, is currently receiving treatment at Southmead Hospital.

The road was closed to allow a collision investigation to take place and reopened shortly before 1am today (Wednesday).

Police are now asking for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in contact.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident they feel to be relevant.
