MARKET Cross in Devizes has been cordoned off after a piece of the monument fell off.
On Friday, November 19 one of the decorative stone finishings on top of the monument fell off – leaving it looking a little lopsided, Devizes Town Council said on social media.

The town council said that the monument is checked by a structural engineer, but that a small piece of Market Cross had succumbed to the elements.
A spokesman for the town council posted: "We have taken temporary precaution and cordoned off the bottom of the monument whilst we have the stone work checked for anything else that maybe unsafe."
