IT IS that time of year where, whether you are an amateur or a professional, you can get your skates on and have fun.

Despite the recent closure of Rush Skatepark at Brimscombe Port in August, there are several ice rinks to savour in the surrounding areas over the coming winter weeks. 

Bath On Ice

Between November 12 and January 3, you can enjoy winter wonderland in the centre of Bath.

It will be open from 10.30am to 10.00 pm Monday to Sunday and is situated at the Royal Pavilion near the town centre.

In addition, next door to the Ice Rink the golf course will be decorated and participants will be able to play golf at night with glow in the dark balls.

Bristol Planet Ice

Situated in the north of Bristol, the Planet Ice opened on Monday, 25 October and opening times differ significantly throughout the week.

This is the first time that this particular Ice Rink will be opening.

Bump Rollerdisco at Redcliffe Wharf

The Bump Rollerdisco at Redcliffe Wharf has actually been open to the public since mid-July and will remain open until January.

It is open during everyday of the week, although opening times vary substantially.

Cheltenham Ice Rink

Recently, Cheltenham Borough Council gave the go ahead for a new Ice Rink this Christmas in Cheltenham. 

It will be situated in Imperial Gardens and is due to open from Thursday, November 18 to Sunday, January 2.

The new Ice rink will be open between 10am and 8pm from Sunday to Thursday and between 10am and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Gloucester Quays Ice Rink

The Ice Rink at Gloucester Quays will open on November 25 until January 3.

The organisers have said to keep your eyes peeled for when tickets are finally on sale.

The open-air Ice Rink will be on Orchard Square.
