The National Highways agency have confirmed earlier road closures have now been reopened following a collision around 4am this morning where a man died.

The closures between the A46 Shurdington Road junction and the Air Balloon Roundabout will reopened yesterday evening and investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision.

Police were called to the A417 at Crickley Hill, near Gloucester, just after 4am with a report of a collision involving a black Hyundai i10 and a grey Iveco HGV.

The collision took place on the stretch of road between the A46 Shurdington Road junction and the Air Balloon Roundabout.

The driver of the Hyundai, a man in his 20s from the North West of England, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics being in attendance.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
