THE Cotswolds has been named as the UK’s most popular beauty spot.
With more of us expecting to work from home following the pandemic, there has been a huge surge in people looking for homes in their dream locations – aiming to swap a city lifestyle for the country’s most beautiful spots.
England, Wales, and Northern Ireland boast 46 areas of natural beauty (AONB), with a further 40 national scenic areas (NSAs) in Scotland.
So which of the UK’s beauty spots are the most popular for home hunters?
Zoopla analysed the data and found the Cotswolds were the most sought after.
Surrounded by 100 miles of countryside and historic towns, the Cotswolds is revealed as the most popular beauty spot for home hunters.
With homes embraced by acres of farmland and national walking trails, the Cotswolds is an idyllic area for people ready to enjoy a rural life.
Zoopla recorded more than 8.5 million views from prospective buyers in 2021, with an average property price of £474,164.
It’s followed by the Kent Downs, famous for its enchanting landscapes which are home to a diverse array of wildlife.
The third most popular beauty spot is the Chiltern Hills, a large scenic area that extends across 660 square miles.
As much as a beautiful, remote and quiet place to live is appealing, living out of town isn’t for everyone. Scotland’s Loch na Keal in the Isle of Mull is revealed as the least popular beauty spot.
While the Cotswolds was the most popular spot, it wasn’t the most expensive.
That title went down to Surrey Hills, with an average property price of £704,813.
