Gloucestershire firefighters have faced disciplinary action over claims a sex doll was bought as a secret Santa present last Christmas.

The incident was investigated and the fire service said falling short of its standards is “completely unacceptable”.

A firefighter, who did not wish to be named, said firefighters were crude with the doll.

It was allegedly left blown up at the station for days and the unnamed firefighter said they felt demeaned by the incident.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Over the past two years, the GFRS senior leadership team have visited all members of staff to promote and explain the importance of the service’s values.

“GFRS staff are expected to conduct themselves at all times in accordance with these values as well as demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and tolerance.

“Falling short of this is completely unacceptable. This incident has now been fully investigated and the appropriate disciplinary action has been taken.”
