A Cotswold pub has been named one of the best for dining in the country.

The Swan Inn in Swinbrook is among The Good Pub Guide's top ten dining pubs for 2021 and has also been named the best in Oxfordshire.

It is the second year in a row the pub's food has been recognised by the Guide, having been named the best dining pub in Oxfordshire last year as well.

The pub has also been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.

Situated on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, the pub once belonged to one of the Mitford sisters.

It has also been used as a set for Downton Abbey - the production company even replaced the pubs sign to give it a more period look.

The pub is now owned by Steve Cook and Archie Orr-Ewing . Stephen Pitt is the general manager while the kitchen team is led by Hubert Kosmala.

“Hubert deserves all of the plaudits, it has been a pleasure to work with him,” said Stephen.

“In these times it is great to have something to celebrate, our sister pub, The Kings Head Inn, in Bledington has also just picked up an award for County Dining Pub of the Year for Gloucestershire by the Good Pub Guide as well.”
