TICKETS are selling well for this year’s Big Picnic, which returns on September 3-4.

Held right in the heart of the beautiful village of Sherston, it features two-days of live music, with afternoon children’s entertainment and good food and drink.

It will be held at The Old Rifle Range and Hall Field and the organisers say tickets are selling out fast.

“At the last count there were 42 adult weekend tickets left so if you are fancying a weekend of great live music, with afternoon kids entertainment and good food and drink, then it’s time to get a wiggle on,” a festival spokesman said.

“Nothing much more to say really, so all you have to do is decide if are you going to join us in saying goodbye to the summer at what is guaranteed to be the best - and in fact only -festival in the area this summer.”

He added: “Just to be on the safe side, we are going to make it an outdoor event, with the same laid back picnic vibe that we had last year, but this time with a lot less restrictions on what you can and can’t do.

“But we will of course adhere to all guidelines in force at the time.

“And if we do have to cancel due to Covid stuff, we will refund the ticket price.

The line-up includes performances from Cut Capers (hip-hop + ska + dub + electro swing); True Strays (country flavoured bluesy Americana), Soul Destroyers (soul/funk/pop/rock classics), who are fronted by a six piece horn section and three singers, and Cardiff’s finest, Tattsyrup, with a set of ska classics.

One of the hits of last year’s picnic, Junomoon, will be making a welcome return.

“These guys were one of the hits of last year’s picnic, so we had to get Harry and the boys back to deliver their lush multi part harmonies over some tightly written pop gems – think Beach Boys meet The Beatles and you aren’t far off.”

Also appearing will be Wasabi, the Arkansaw Jukebox Collective, Daybreakers, Neon Mirrors, Will Lawton and the Alchemists, Dirty Smooth, and Kodana.

Tickets can be booked via bigpicnic2021.eventbrite.co.uk

Children under 11 are free if accompanied by an adult - everyone else needs a ticket - this includes all children 11 or older.
