A man hit a 12-year-old cyclist with his van and drove off, leaving her with a head injury on Tuesday.
The blue, medium-sized van hit the girl as she was crossing Cotteswold Road, Gloucester, on her way to school at around 7.50am.
The impact caused her to bang her head on the handlebars, the van paused and then drove off towards Painswick Road.
The girl suffered bruising and grazes but is not believed to be seriously injured.
The van was described as panelled and the driver as a white man, aged in his mid-30s, of medium build and with ginger hair.
Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information on the vehicle is asked to contact police through the Gloucestershire Constabulary website, quoting incident 139 of July 6 or to call 101.
