The owners of a Cirencester pub are celebrating 30 years behind the pumps.
Bill and Gail Daley, originally from Australia, took over Arkell’s Brewery’s The Crown Inn after falling in love with Cirencester Park and the town in 1991.
They run the pub alongside their dedicated employees Tracy Smith and Sandy Nash, who have worked there for more than 30 years, and manager Adam Gearing who started as a pot washer 24 years ago.
Speaking on behalf of Bill and Gail, their daughter Carmen said: “They are extremely grateful to all of their customers and friends as well as Arkell’s who have been so helpful during recent events.
“We are so pleased they chose Cirencester all those years ago and are now enjoying life as not only publicans but also proud grandparents.”
Bill, 68, has run the pub day to day for the last 30 years while Gail, now 65, became a nurse at Swindon Hospital before retiring in March 2018 to join Bill in the Crown Inn.
The couple raised three daughters in Cirencester: Carmen, Hannah and Courtney.
The Crown Inn, located in West Market Place, is a family-friendly pub which serves food seven days a week with a courtyard and function room.
The pub reopened on May 17 after indoor mixing was permitted by the Government.
