A SECTION of the A303 is closed in both directions after a crash between two cars and a lorry.

Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident between Winterbourne Stoke and Deptford.

The road is currently closed in both directions while emergency services are on scene and attempt to clear the road of debris.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Shortly after 3.30pm today (21/06) we were called to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A303.

“It happened on the westbound carriageway, close to Winterbourne Stoke, and involved a lorry, a Range Rover and a Renault.

“Nobody is believed to be seriously injured but the road is currently blocked in both directions and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.”

Wiltshire Police added: "This will ultimately cause long delays on both the Eastbound and Westbound carriageways and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

"We apologies for this inconvenience and can assure you we are trying our best to clear the carriageways and will re-open the road as soon as we can."

Salisbury Journal:

The AA says there are "severe delays of 55 minutes and delays increasing on A303 Eastbound between A36 (Deptford / Codford turn off) and B3083 Berwick Road", with the average speed of five mph.
