TWO brothers are launching an East London street food pop up on a Cotswold estate this summer.

Formerly based in London, Adam and James Thomas hit on the idea of bringing London’s popular street food scene out to a beautiful rural location.

Their new alfresco dining hub, Pit Kitchen, is launching on Friday, July 2.

Situated to make the most of the incredible rural views, Pit Kitchen lies on a popular walking route on the Cornwell estate just off the A44 (Worcester Road) 2 miles from Chipping Norton town centre. Off-road field parking available.

With dishes to takeaway or eat-in available at breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, the Pit Kitchen’s menus mantra is ‘a few things done really well’ with regularly changing, short and affordable menus.

Much of the food will be cooked on open air wood fire pits with dishes to suit meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans and all made using only the best quality and locally sourced ingredients.

During the day, expect a small, but delicious range of excellent sandwiches made using its own house focaccia, salads, soups, snacks and bakes.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, the menu will be inspired by Middle Eastern dishes with a twist.

With a focus on open fire cooking, all dishes will be served from a converted container clad in reclaimed timber.

For those eating-in, seating is at long communal tables creating a relaxed and convivial dining space.

Warmed by fire pits, sheltered by sailcloth awnings and illuminated by festoon lights, tables will be positioned to make the most of the beautiful, far-reaching rural views within a wildflower meadow with mown grass paths.

Originally from Worcestershire, Adam and James have 15 years’ catering industry experience between them and have spent the past eight years living in London.

Initially Pit Kitchen will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am - 10pm and on Sundays from 10am - 6pm with further opening days over the summer months. It will close in late October.
