A WOMAN is planning a nearly naked ride through the streets of Gloucestershire to support a charity that is close to her heart.

With cancer affecting several people in her life, Christie McLean from Uley decided she wanted to do something to help.

She is now joining forces with Macmillan Cancer Support to raise awareness and money for the charity.

Christie says that the ride, which is planned for next month, will hopefully give people something to smile about and in return they will give generously.

She will be riding her Welsh Section D, called Coalman, through the streets of Dursley on Saturday, June 19, before heading out of the town and on to the Greene King owned Hunters Hall Inn at Kingscote.

“Now of course I don’t want to be arrested for indecent exposure, so a bikini of type will be worn,” she said.

“This is taking me well out of my comfort zone as it goes without saying, I sport a fair amount of love handles, cellulite, a muffin top and

gravity has taken over.

“But, if I can make someone smile or laugh at my expense, whilst raising much needed money for Macmillan, then bring it on.

“And if we can reach £400, then my other half Olly has promised that he will join me sporting something similar to a Borat mankini.”
