Charlie and Daisy Cooper, writers and actors of the BBC Three comedy This Country have received four nominations at this year's BAFTA awards.

The Cirencester siblings were named in the list of nominees on Wednesday morning.

The hit mockumentary has been nominated for Best Scripted Comedy.

They face tough competitition with Ghosts, Inside No. 9 and Man Like Mobeen also nominated for the award.

Charlie and Daisy were also nominated for Best Writer of a Comedy.

They will be up against Charlie Brooker (Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe), Sophie Willan (Alma's Not Normal) and the writing team for Ghosts.

The siblings were also nominated for best Female and Male Performance In A Comedy Programme.

Daisy has been nominated alongside Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education), Daisy Haggard (Breeders), Emma Mackey (Sex Education), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Famalam) and Mae Martin (Feel Good).

Charlie is up against Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen), Joseph Gilgun (Brassic), Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education), Paul Ritter (Friday Night Dinner) and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No. 9).

The Virgin Media BAFTAs take place on Sunday, June 6 and the Television Craft Awards on Monday, May.
