TETBURY LIONS is pleased to announce the Summer Online Auction.

The auction starts at 10am on June 5, 2021.

The highest bid received at 6pm on June 12, 2021 wins each item.

Only members of the group can bid on the auction lots, so encourage your friends to join in the fun here - facebook.com/groups/1460887934099050.

Bids are placed by clicking on the photo of the item you wish to bid on and by adding your bid amount into the comments.

All bids are in GBP and to be made in whole pounds.

The winning bidder will be notified at the end of the auction, and will receive details of how to make payment (BACS, cheque or cash)

The average donation to the Lions raffles is £5 so it seems fair that this is the starting bid for most items.

A few items have slightly higher starting bids at the request of the item donor.

Payment must be made within 72 hours of the end of the auction.

Vouchers for services or treatments will be sent direct to the winning bidder by the donor.

For large items, collection from a location in Tetbury (GL8) will be arranged.

The auction is in no way affiliated to Facebook.

All proceeds from this auction go directly to Tetbury Lions Trust, registered charity No. 1152090.

TETBURY Goods Shed Cinema is delighted to announce that they will be showing the film Knives Out (12A) on Thursday, May 20.

To keep safe within the Covid guidelines they are now running two shows of every film due to limited numbers per showing.

The first showing will take place from 2pm to 4.15pm, with an evening showing from 7pm to 9.15pm. Tickets are £7 each.

Knives Out is a 2019 American mystery film written, produced, and directed by Rian Johnson.

The film revolves around renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer)who is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate.

From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.

With an all-star cast that includes Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martel.

ON Friday, May 21, Tetbury Goods Shed Art Centre is pleased to present Wilde without the Boy and the Ballad of Reading Gaol.

Performed by Olivier Award nominee Gerard Logan and with music by Simon Slater, the piece is a window into the bruised soul of a literary genius.

Gareth’s brilliant dramatisation of “De Profundis“, Oscar Wilde’s searing letter to his lover, written from his Reading Gaol cell.

Wilde’s poem The Ballad of Reading Gaol narrates the execution of Charles Thomas Wooldridge, convicted of murdering his wife.

Award-winning composer Simon Slater’s beautiful and original score provides a moving accompaniment to the performance.

Tickets are £12.50 plus booking fee.

Doors open at 7pm. There will be a licensed bar.

THERE is a temporary traffic order to close the B4014 Hampton Street for carriageway resurfacing.

The closure is expected to last 12 days (excl. weekends) between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.

The planned start and end dates are currently Tuesday, June 15 to Wednesday, June 30.

TETBURY Bowls Club is delighted to host a free taster weekend of bowls, with everyone aged 9 and over welcome.

Why not pop along and not give it a try!

The bowls club is situated in the lovely setting of Tetbury Recreation Ground behind the Dolphin Hall on New Church Street, GL8 8DS .

The first day will take place on Saturday, May 1, from 10am to 2.30pm.

All you have to do is turn up wearing flat sole shoes and they will provide the equipment and coaching.

On the Sunday, it’s Junior Day from 10am to 2pm.

This is open to anyone over 9 years old and under 18.

You must bring an adult and come wearing flat sole shoes, as the coaches provide the equipment for you to enjoy and have fun.

Covid-19 measures will be in place as per Bowls England guidance.
