SHARON Ponting passed away on Friday, April 9.

Sharon lived in Down Ampney for 55 years.

Her funeral will be held at Kingsdown Crematorium for family only due to the current restrictions.

When restrictions are lifted there will be a service at All Saints’ Church for all those who knew her and would like to pay their respects.

In the meantime, donations to the Stroke Association www.stroke.org.uk in memory of Sharon would be welcomed.

FUNDS are being raised for the church on July 10 & 11 this year through the Down Ampney Front Garden Competition.

For an entry fee of £5, any villager with a garden that can be seen over the wall, hedge, from the road or footpath can enter.

Everyone will be able to buy a judging sheet and submit their vote for the people’s choice vote.

Under 18s will also have the opportunity to win a prize for the best garden ornament made from recycled materials.

Entry forms will be available in the June Down Ampney News.

GARDENING Club members are hoping for good weather this Thursday, April 29 when they will be visiting members' gardens for their Spring Open gardens evening.

u TRUE to form Down Ampney villagers have also set about raising funds for the children's Playground through some old fashioned fundraising in addition to the crowdfunding site.

Villagers can show their support by popping along to 24a Down Ampney on Sunday, May 2, from 10am to noon and treating themselves to some delicious cake from the village cake sale.

Takeaway tea and coffee will also be available.
