Friends and residents shocked by the death of 17-year-old Joshua Hall who was stabbed in Cam have donated more than £8,000 to his family.

The money will help them with funeral and memorial costs for Joshua, who died in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, hours after being attacked on Friday, April 16.

In 24 hours the fundraising page has received more than 10 times it’s original target.

Flowers, pictures, candles and cards have been laid by family and friends at Cam Sports Club where the incident took place.

In a tribute, Joshua's family said they wanted him to be remembered for “the love he brought to life” and his smile.

They thanked everyone who “has left flowers, cards, kind words and beautiful memories of our son.”

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, charged with murdering Joshua Hall appeared briefly at Gloucester Crown Court today (Wednesday).

A 29-year-old man from Dursley was arrested on suspicion of murder and the supply of class B drugs this morning (Wednesday) and remains in police custody.

The arrest follows information that developed about another individual who may have been involved in Friday’s fatal stabbing, police said.
