A 31-YEAR-OLD Cotswold man who was caught behind the wheel whilst more than three times over the alcohol limit has been banned from driving for 14 months.

Barnaby Pearce, 31, of Penny Patch, Ampney Crucis, pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on April 12.

Magistrates heard how Pearce was behind the wheel of his Nissan Navara on the A429 Fosse Way, Farmington, whilst he was under the influence of alcohol on July 16, 2020.

Pearce was found to have 106 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 micrograms.

He was fined £1,500, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £150 and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
