A 20-YEAR-OLD Cotswold man found carrying a machete in Lechlade Memorial Hall has been given a conditional discharge.
Robert Simpkins, 20, of Dixon Close, Mickleton, had pleaded not guilty to the offence on May 29, 2018.
He was found guilty by Cheltenham Magistrates Court on March 26, 2021.
Magistrates heard how Simpkins had the machete in his possession without good reason or lawful authority in Lechlade Memorial Hall.
He was discharged conditionally for 18 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £20 and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
