FAIRFORD Community Centre re-opened on Monday.

Following Government guidelines, there will be a phased re-opening of the centre with more groups, activities and events returning as we move through each step of the journey out of lockdown.

YOU can now book voluntary patient transport directly through Friends of Fairford & Lechlade Communities.

You no longer need to request a driver through either Hilary Cottage or Lechlade Medical Centre receptionists.

FAIRFORD Cricket Club is pleased to invite girls to participate in coaching sessions and learn how to play the game of cricket or develop existing skills.

For girls in school Years 7-10, the sessions take place at Fairford Cricket Ground on Friday evening from April 16 – July 23 and run from 6.30pm to 8pm.

‘All Stars Cricket’ (for girls aged 5-8) and ‘Dynamos Cricket’ (for girls aged 8-11) are initiatives run in conjunction with the England & Wales Cricket Board and start on Friday evenings from May 21.

Enrolment for girls in school Years 7-10 can take place at any coaching session.

The annual subscription is a one-off fee of £35 (£20 for siblings).

Girls in this age group new to cricket are welcome to come along and try a ‘taster’ session before committing to the game if they prefer.

Fairford Cricket Club conforms to the Government’s coronavirus rules and regulations.

The club will provide cricket equipment for girls to use at coaching sessions.

We have junior teams that play league cricket at various ages for those who may also wish to play competitively.

The cricket ground is located off Park Street, Fairford.

THE Friends of Fairford & Lechlade Communities’ Trustees are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated general manager to lead the charity, taking on the responsibility for delivering operational activities and fundraising.

This is a new role within the organization and is an exciting opportunity for a professional to lead the charity organization into its next phase of development.

The general manager will be working closely with the trustees to maintain its health and wellbeing services within the local community and to expand its capacity and fundraising activities.

We welcome applicants who are self-motivated, skilled and have the ability to build strong working relationships with trustees, staff and volunteers.

Excellent communication skills are essential as is experience of successful fundraising.

THIS is the second year the important house-to-house fundraising event for the Friends of Fairford and Lechlade Communities has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

The event normally raises between £17,000 and £20,000 per annum.
