TRADERS barbers, beauty therapist, gym instructors and pub landlords are all poised and ready to welcome back customers as the next step of Prime Minister Boris Johnsons roadmap of lockdown takes place today.

The Prime Minister confirmed last Monday that next stage of his plans would go ahead today meaning all non-essential retail shops, personal care premises such as hairdressers, beauty and nail salons, gym facilities and pubs can finally start to trade again.

On March 8 schools reopened, the next stage of the roadmap on March 29 saw the rule of six return and the stay-at-home restriction lifted.

From today all non-essential services can re-open and below is a guide of what you can and cannot do in this stage of the roadmap:

Non-essential retail:

All non-essential retail can re-open today. For the first time since the initial lockdown in March 2020, shoppers will be able to use changing rooms.

Traders can also keep their units open until 10pm to help with social distancing.

Gyms:

Fitness enthusiasts can return to the gym today but only to train with people from their own household.

Indoor exercise classes are not able to restart, however indoor swimming pools will reopen.

Pubs:

Pubs, restaurants and cafes are allowed to reopen from today but with outdoor table service only.

The rule of six applies and so tables can be of six individuals or up to two households.

In a change to the rules in place last year- patrons no longer have to purchase a meal with their drinks.

Anyone attending a pub or restaurant must use the NHS track and trace app to record their visit.

Public buildings:

Libraries and community centres are able to reopen.

Parent and child groups:

Up to 15 people (not including children under 5) can meet indoors for parent and child groups.

Beauty salons:

Beauty treatments and self-care facilities can welcome back clients from today.

Care homes:

Care home residents can have a second regular visitor. Babies and toddlers can visit. Visitors will be expected to provide a negative Covid test result and wear PPE when attending.

Hairdressers and barbers:

Hairdressers and barbers can all re-open from today.

Social distancing guidelines will remain in place.

Zoos and theme parks:

Outdoor venues such as the Wild Place Project are able to re-open from today.

Weddings and funerals:

15 people can attend a wedding from today. Social distancing remains in place.

There will be no change for funerals, 30 attendees are allowed.

UK breaks:

From today self contained accommodation can re-open, meaning caravan holidays, trips in Airbnbs or cottages can go ahead.

However, hotels and B&Bs are still not able to open.
