IN the last fortnight, no patients have died at Great Western Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

So far, 318 people being treated at GWH have died following a positive Covid-19 test, with the most recent one being recorded on March 23.

Figures released today reveal that no other patients with the disease have died between then and April 6 - or, possibly, any such deaths have not yet been formally recorded as related to coronavirus.

Today's latest update from NHS England revealed that across the country, a further 42 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 86,476.

Patients were aged between 33 and 98 and all except two (aged 33 and 55) had known underlying health conditions.

The deaths occurred between October 20 and April 6.

There were 17 other deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
