Robert Hall, 37, was jailed for five years and nine months for trying to kidnap a terrified 13-year-old girl in Chalford last summer has been jailed today for five and three quarter years.

Hall of Woodlands, Leonard Stanley, claimed he was being told by voices in his head to snatch the girl - but his explanation was rejected by a Gloucester Crown Court judge after he had heard evidence from Hall during a 'trial of issue' to determine the extent of his guilt.

Edward Humphrey, 42, was jailed for two years and eight months after stealing more than £62,000 from an alternative medicine company in Stroud to finance his gambling addiction.

Humphrey, of Overbrook Road, Hardwicke, abused his position as bookkeeper for In-Light Ltd, which provides homeopathic medicine courses in Rodborough, by making unauthorised bank transfers to his own Stroud company.

Jonathan Nash, 46, was jailed for 12 years after subjected his former partner to an 18 month campaign of harassment and sexual abuse.

Nash, of Allen Road, Paganhill, was convicted of two offences of sexually assaulting her following a week-long trial, and also admitted breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

In September and October last year James Newton, 27, was living with his partner in Lansdown Crescent in Cheltenham but was dealing in class A drugs from a ''cuckooed' flat in Church Street, King’s Stanley.

A former Bristol City footballer has been jailed for 10 years after he was convicted of rape and attempted rape following attacks on women he met at nightclubs in Bristol and London.

Alhaji Sesay, 22, who also represented the Sierra Leone national team, was convicted of one count of rape and two of attempted rape against two separate women following a trial at Bristol Crown Court. He was found not guilty of a second charge of rape.

A Cotswold man who sexually abused a 13-year-old girl over a four month period was jailed for two years and eight months.

Henry Scott, 24, of Bagpath, near Tetbury, pleaded guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to three charges of having penetrative sex with the girl, engaging in sexual communications with a child and possessing indecent images of the girl in all three categories of seriousness.
