A CIRENCESTER business has been donating packs of flower and vegetable seeds to their local community to help brighten up their gardens this summer.

Gardiner Haskins has made donations to all sorts of community projects, charities and schools across the county, including South Cerney Playgroup, PATA at Siddington & Kemble, Sunflowers at St Peters, Baunton Lane Playing Fields.

Karley Coles, Marketing Assistant, said: “The last year has been tough for everybody and we frequently hear of budgets being slashed especially for community groups, charities and schools.

"Through the lockdowns we have faced the past year we have all found our gardens and open spaces to be a great form of comfort, so we wanted to be able to share the seeds free of charge with local groups to allow them to brighten up their outdoor areas and enjoy the journey from seed to flower.

"We hope by facilitating all these flowers to be planted the bees and insects will thrive also.”

Gardiner Haskins have occupied the store on Dyer Street since 1979 putting them right at the heart of the community.

Steve Whitcombe, Retail Director said: “The support we have received from our customers in the last year has been phenomenal.

"Whether it is visiting us in store, ordering by phone or even leaving a simple message or recommendation on our Social Media, we appreciate it all.

"This is why it is so important to us to support the community in any little way we can.”
