Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman suffered a broken nose during an attempter robbery in Gloucestershire on Monday night.

The woman was walking when she was approached from behind and pushed in the back, which caused her to fall forwards.

She suffered a broken nose in the incident which happened on India Road, near to Ascot Court, Gloucester, shortly after 10pm.

She suffered facial injuries and while on the floor attempts were made by a man to steal her handbag and she kicked out at him.

The man, and a woman who he was with, both fled the scene in an unknown direction.

He was described as being of a slim build, around 5ft 6ins in height with dark hair which was around 5cm in length.

The woman who he was with was described as being around 5ft 6ins in height and had dark and straight shoulder length hair.

The victim attended a friend's address nearby and an ambulance was called and she received medical treatment for the injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing with CCTV being reviewed. Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area at that time to make contact.
