Gloucestershire police have asked people to only drive this morning if there is an emergency.

Heavy snow has resulted in poor driving conditions, and a number of crashes have been reported.

A number of motorists have become stranded at Cleeve Hill, with police currently unable to assist them or get close enough to close the road.

A tweet from Gloucestershire police's Force Control Room stated: "We are asking that people avoid driving this morning unless an emergency. We are getting a large number of calls about RTC's and we are struggling to get to some people in our 4x4's.
