I was due to take my Covid vaccination on Friday, January 8, at the Cirencester Hospital.

I felt I simply have to put pen to paper as a result of my visit.

I was firstly met at the drive by two gentlemen who enquired if I was there for the injection or for medical treatment.

On explaining I was there for a vaccination I was directed to the northern car park, they also asked if I was able to traverse the four or so steps up from the car park, how thoughtful.

Having assured them that I could I was then directed to that car park where yet another volunteer met me and directed me to a parking slot.

Having done that I was then directed to another volunteer who pointed me in the right direction for the very short (2) queue waiting to enter the vaccination centre (the modified canteen).

After what was a mere two minutes I was called in and verified my identity with a few questions, my name was duly entered on to the computer screen and verified.

After another one minute I was in the chair and ready to be vaccinated.

The whole thing took about four minutes from the start.

I never even felt the Pfizer vaccine needle going in and was then asked to go and sit down for 15 minutes in case of any after effects.

At no time was I either left to my own resources or felt that I was in strange territory.

At all times I was treated as a human being and felt completely at ease and in the secure and safe hands of what were effectively volunteers.

The whole procedure was carried out by volunteers who were very polite and helpful at all times.

It is a pleasure to know that there are such nice people around in times like these.

Thank you National Health Service and National Health England, you are truly 'just what the doctor ordered' and I do hope that the many of your readers who have yet to have their vaccination will now go forward knowing that their welfare is well looked after by these 'heroes'.
