Gloucestershire has vaccinated proportionally more of it's citizens aged over 80 than anywhere else in the country.
More than 85% of people aged 80 and over have been vaccinated with their first dose of a Covid jab, according to the latest NHS figures.
As of 17th January, 31,903 over 80s and 30,237 under 80s have received their first dose.
“This is not only a relief but an absolute necessity if we are to stop infections and lower fatalities, reopen our schools, end lockdown and get back to normal," said Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie.
“This latest data is testament to the unbelievable work our local vaccination programme has undertaken in Gloucestershire and I would like to thank everyone for what they have done to make this happen."
Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire are sixth in the rankings, vaccinating more residents, 33,429, but a lower proportion of those aged over 80 in these areas (70.6%).
