A 63-YEAR-OLD man from Cirencester has been committed for jury trial at Gloucester Crown Court on a serious violence charge.

James Thomas of Beech Grove Court, Cirencester Beeches, appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates on January 7.

He is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding another male with intent to do grievous bodily harm in Cirencester on September 22 last year.

The magistrates said the charge is indictable only which means that it is so serious that it can only be dealt with by a crown court.

Mr Thomas was granted unconditional bail pending his first appearance before Gloucester Crown Court on February 18.
