PART of a Park South street flooded after a water main burst last night.

Thames Water engineers worked through the night to repair the leaking six-inch pipe. The floodwater on the road did not affect any of the properties on Cranmore Avenue as it poured down the drains.

A Thames Water spokeswoman said: "The burst was reported at around 10.30pm and an engineer was called immediately.

"They arrived on site an hour later and stopped the water flowing from the pipe just after midnight.

"The repair crew arrived at 1am and the pipe was repaired and put back into service by 5am.

"We’re sorry for any disruption the overnight repairs caused.”
