More than 50 tourists were spoken to by police on Sunday in the North Cotswolds.

Police continued to crackdown on those making non-essential journeys, engaging with a large number of tourists throughout the day, with 'many sent home'.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a third national lockdown for England on Monday as the the country attempts to tackle the rapid rise of coronavirus infections.

The lockdown means people will only be able to leave their homes for limited reasons, with measures expected to stay in place until mid-February.

Like in March, people are being told to only leave their house for essential activities such as buying groceries or to provide care to another person.

A tweet from the Cotswold Police account stated: "A very proactive Sunday for North Cotswolds NPT Team 2!

"More than 50 tourists engaged with and many sent home, two cars seized for motoring offences and multiple tickets and fines handed out."
