AN ALLOTMENTS track in Old Town has been fixed following complaints of mud and potholes.

South Swindon Parish Council arranged for the work on Glenwood Close to be carried out just before Christmas and it took a week to complete.

People who use the allotments have often complained about the track leading to them damaging vehicles.

To avoid the potholes, drivers have gone onto the grass which then carried mud onto the paths and made the problem worse.

But now a new path has been paved to address these concerns at a cost of £6,066.

It's part of a wider scheme the parish council is carrying out at all of its allotments.

This is the third site to have its track improved following similar efforts at the Westcott and Shrivenham Road allotment.

The parish council took on the management of the allotments in 2017 and has one of the cheapest allotments rates in Swindon- just £46 per year for a full allotment plot.
