AFTER the previous weekend's deluge, nobody thought it could get any worse - but it did!, writes Phil Smith.
Of the 14 matches scheduled (including County Cups), for Cirencester and District Football League teams, only two were played on Saturday.
Heavy rain on Thursday saw the poorly drained council pitches called off on Friday morning.
And the rest, having recovered after a mainly dry Friday, could not cope with another deluge on Saturday.
This only exceptions were Colne House School, where Real Fairford won their local derby with Bibury 1-0, and at Bibury where the Reserves continued their winning streak with a 3-1 result against South Cerney's second string.
Apart from the league matches, Taverners Reserves GFA Cup match was postponed for the second time and will now be played this Saturday - weather permitting.
This Saturday sees the two leaders in Division One go head-to-head with the return leg due to be played the following week.
