A 10-year-old hound's life was saved when he was rescued from Spain by SNDogs.

Now Pumpkin is looking for a loving new home in Swindon where he can relax in peace with plenty of cuddles.

Jessie Bascombe, who is currently fostering Pumpkin, says he can be quite a lazy dog.

She said: “He’s got the energy to play but he’s not keen on early mornings and the British weather.

“But once he gets up and sees everyone else is up he’ll want to go, go, go!

“He loves snuggling in his bed, he’s quite a cuddly boy and he wants to be with people. He’s not too keen on being by himself.”

And when it comes to Pumpkin's future home, Jessie believes an older family might be best.

“Ideally he’d suit an older person who just wants some company,” Jessie said.

“He definitely shouldn’t be with children who really want to pet. He’s more of an adult dog.

“With him being older he wouldn’t want to have the bother of children running around and the noise.

“He’s met dogs, cats and parrots and he’s fine with all of them.”

Pumpkin is suffering with a small form of kidney disease but SNDogs is treating him for it.

Anyone interested in giving Pumpkin a home should visit sndogs.uk/adopt-a-dog and fill out the application form.

A home check will then be carried out, taking between 30 minutes and a couple of hours, before a decision is made.

After the family has been accepted the foster carer will make contact and arrange a time to meet and get to know him.
