Post-lockdown shoppers should grab their coats and umbrellas, as icy temperatures and showers are forecast to start on Wednesday and last through the week.

The Met Office reports this evening will remain dry and cloudy, with a minimum temperature of 1°C, followed by fog patches developing in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Wednesday will start with patchy outbreaks of drizzle, becoming a band of rain around midday. The rest of the day will be colder and brighter, with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers. At their peak, temperatures could be 10°C.

It will be a wet day on Thursday, remaining cold and unsettled during Friday and Saturday with sunshine and showers.
