Swindon is the testing ground for a new collection service being offered by Domino's.

The 'In Car Collection' service will allow customers collecting pizza orders to remain in their car throughout the process.

The Swindon Taw Hill and Swindon East branches are the first in the country to offer the new experience.

The process is a simple one. After ordering from Domino's, customers will receive a text from the store letting them know the order is 10 minutes away from being ready.

Customers will share their location with the store via a link that will be sent to them by text before driving and parking at the store.

A Domino’s worker will then deliver the pizza to the car.

Domino’s East Swindon manager Joe Caudle said: “Collection is hugely popular in our store and we know pizza fans in Swindon love a great deal.

"By offering In Car Collection, we’re giving our customers even more options to get their hands on a Domino’s pizza.

"In these uncertain times we know how important it is to be able to rely on your local store to cook up delicious food when you’re craving it the most.

"We’re proud to be able to go a step further and make life that little bit easier by bringing your order directly to your car when you come to collect your food.”

Group digital director Clive West added: “We are delighted to launch In Car Collection at our Swindon East and Swindon Taw Hill stores.

"We’ve listened to our customers and know that convenience and speed are key when it comes to collection.

"Despite this being an extremely challenging year for many, we are privileged to be able to develop new innovations for our customers.

"If the trial is a success, we’ll be looking to roll this out to other stores in the UK, we can’t wait to hear customer feedback!”
