STAFF at the new Upton Mill residential home in Tetbury have been shortlisted at the Great British Care Awards.

The team has two regional finalists in the awards - home manager Matthew Berry and second chef Kathy Cooper.

Matthew, who has been shortlisted for registered manager of the year, said: “It is a great honour to be recognised in such a way by my team and peers.

“I am humbled by the shortlist for this award and am looking forward to representing Porthaven and more importantly, Upton Mill at the regional finals.”

Kathy, has been shortlisted for the chef of the year, said: “The residents are at the centre of everything I do.

“I really enjoy baking with the residents, sharing recipes and experiences with them at every opportunity.”

Upton Mill opened its doors in August and offers residential, nursing and dementia care.
