A 29-YEAR-OLD Newent man is to stand trial next summer accused of illegal hunting with a dog in the Cotswolds.
Anthony Williams of Southend Lane, Newent, has pleaded not guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court to hunting a wild mammal with a dog on land at Calmsden, near Cirencester, on New Year’s Day this year.
It is alleged he breached the Hunting Act 2004.
Mr Williams appeared before the magistrates on October and after pleading not guilty he was bailed to await trial on July 21, 2021.
