A thug with two-tone hair was pulled over by police on the M4 near Royal Wootton Bassett – just hours after he’d stabbed a woman in Cardiff.

Jeremy Lenohin, 27, was arrested by Wiltshire Police officers near Junction 14 in the early hours of June 6.

Shortly after 7.30pm the previous day, 999 crews were called to a flat in Cardiff where a woman was found with a number of stab wounds – including a 4cm-deep gash in her thigh.

South Wales Police launched a manhunt for Croydon man Lenohin and in the early hours of the next morning, Wiltshire officers pulled over his 67-plate Mercedes. He was arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent.

At Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, Lenohin pleaded guilty and was jailed for eight years.

Welcoming the sentence, Det Con Paul Azzopardi said: “A team of officers worked through the night to make sure the suspect was caught and, thanks to the help of the community and colleagues from Wiltshire, Lenohin was arrested within eight hours of the 999 call.”
