A man has been fined £10,000 for organising an unlicensed music event in Yate at the weekend in breach of Covid-19 restrictions.

Hundreds of people attended the event at an industrial warehouse in Stover Trading Estate, and there were scenes of hostility and violence against police.

In total eight people were arrested for offences including violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker.

Letters have been sent to parents after a man, possibly bearing a knife, was seen chasing schoolchildren in Stroud.

A 23-year-old man from Yate, wanted under a European extradition warrant for numerous drug related offences, has been arrested.

The man, who was wanted for numerous drug related offences, including the supply of class B/C drugs, was arrested after officers stopped a vehicle suspected to be involved in a drug deal.

Police have been deployed on three separate occasions following reports of of illegal fox hunting in the Cotswolds.

While no illegality has been found, a video sent in by a member of the public alleging an offence under the hunting act is currently being reviewed

Gloucestershire Police is warning residents to be alert following reports of scammers targeting residents in Tetbury, Gloucester and Churchdown with fraudulent phone calls over recent days.

Police have received seven reports of scam calls since last Thursday where scammers have pretended to be police officers from Hammersmith Police or Scotland Yard before convincing their elderly victims to withdraw and hand over sums of money.

Money was withdrawn and handed over to a courier on three occasions with the victims losing out on a combined total of £18,500.
