A Dursley man who terrified women with a knife on two separate occasions has been jailed.

Both the incidents occurred in Nailsworth in July.

Caine Grange, 21, of St Georges Road, pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article in a public place and causing criminal damage. He was sentenced to a prison term of three years and four months.

A Nailsworth man who was arrested after being confronted by paedophile hunters later downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children

Andrew Papps, 46, of Forest Green, has pleaded guilty to communicating with three fictitious girls, believing them to be aged 13 or 14, by means of social media platforms, attempting to engage a 13-year-old in sexual activity and possessing indecent images of children on his phone and computer.

He was sentenced to 22 months jail suspended for two years.

Two men who committed burglaries in Slimbridge and Wiltshire using a stolen van with false number plates have been jailed after they crashed in a bid to escape police.

Michael Smith, 39, of Buckingham Avenue, St Marks, Cheltenham, pleaded guilty to two offences of burglary with intent to steal, handling stolen goods, careless driving and driving whilst disqualified. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

Wesley Aubrey, 34, of Devon Avenue, Cheltenham, also admitted two offences of burglary with intent to steal and handling stolen goods. He was jailed for two years and five months.

A cyclist was left with broken bones and a punctured lung after being rammed off the road by a VW driver in Malmesbury.

Thomas Robinson, 28, of Tetbury Road, Sherston, was spared an immediate prison sentence after Judge Jason Taylor QC heard the man’s autism played a part in his actions.

He was given a 21 month prison sentence suspended for two years.
