The 14th Annual Fairford & Lechlade Business Club (FLBC) Business Awards will be completely different to all the others that have gone before, writes Chris Roberts.

The proactive Business Club feels it is more important than ever to have the business awards event go ahead and at absolutely no-cost to its members and guests.

This is FLBC’s way of supporting local businesses at this difficult time – applauding and rewarding those businesses that have overcome the Covid-19 odds in 2020.

The FLBC believes that it has been presenting business awards longer than any other business club or chamber in the area and feels that now, more than ever, should be a time to celebrate and recognise the achievements and successes of local businesses.

So, on Saturday, January 30, 2021, the FLBC Business Awards 2021 will be professionally live-streamed by the media team from The Barn Theatre, Cirencester to a wide audience of Business Club members from across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.

The exciting event is set to kick off at 7pm and guests are being asked to prepare a cocktail or mocktail for themselves and enjoy a good night in absolutely free of charge.

There are four major awards to enter that will be judged by completely independent judges – Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, New Business of the Year and Most Innovative Business of the Year.

In addition, there is popular Bob Warren Hospitality Award, which is awarded to the hospitality venue that receives the most number of votes from its customers, friends and family.

The other two awards are the Business Student of the Year, judged by Farmor’s School, Fairford and The Howard Dowler Award chosen by the Chair of FLBC and awarded to the business or person who has made an outstanding contribution to the community.

All entries are online and details can be found on www.flbc.org.uk/Awards.

The closing date for entries is noon on Thursday, December 31.
