MALMESBURY'S Fabric Shack has officially opened in its new space on the High Street.

The Fabric Shack has been trading in Malmesbury for three years in a small trading estate unit.

With more and more people turning to creative activities during Covid restrictions, they have expanded their store to better help the town.

Helen Chapman, owner said: "We're really excited about opening the shop in the town even in these interesting times.

"Covid of course is a concern for everyone, but we are taking all sensible precautions and all our visitors are more than happy to abide by them.

"Malmesbury has a huge diverse crafting community with people of all ages and abilities.

"People have been turning to creative pursuits during lockdown and now as our lifestyles are still limited it's something to do in the dark evenings.

"Before Covid, shows like the Sewing Bee and a genuine desire to do more 'Make Do & Mend' mean that all types of craft have become more popular.

"Creative arts and crafts are a proven benefit to positive mental health and I think that those, especially those who've been isolating have found it a valuable pastime.

"I'm sure there will be lots of homemade face masks gifted this Christmas!"

Helen hopes that their experience will help those starting new creative projects and challenges.
