As part of Ampney Crucis C of E Primary School’s Harvest Celebrations, the school asked their families for donations of food and toiletries for the local foodbank in Cirencester.
Headteacher, Mrs Tana Wood, said she was delighted that parents could give so generously and hoped that the food and other items would help those families in need.
“As a Church of England school we are always thinking of ways to help others and during this continuing difficult time we are only too happy to help those in our wider community,” Mrs Wood said.
The harvest was a slightly different event in school this year.
A service was held outside in the playground lead by Reverend John Swanton and each class’s contribution was filmed and shared with parents as they were unable to attend.
The whole school enjoys celebrating harvest and being able to support others is part of the school’s vision, 'together we live, learn and flourish'.
