Alfie Gendall has extended his lead in the Junior American Cup Car Racing Championship after round 6 on the October, 17 at the Birmingham Wheels Raceway.

Round 6 would take place back in dry conditions but for the first time the final would take place under floodlights.

Alfie took the chequered flag first in heat 1 but was demoted 2 places to 3rd after a small touch with the car in front which had slowed suddenly due to a car which they were about to lap having a technical issue and running slower than normal.

Heat 2 was a good battle at the front between Alfie in the number 31 and the number 7 with Alfie taking the lead half way through the race with a nice move around the outside of the first turn and maintaining a gap to take the victory.

The final under the floodlights was a new twist for the young racers. Alfie came through the pack early on in the race and once he took the lead didn't relinquish it and took the victory with the number 32 of Lara Spicer taking second.

Alfie was pleased with the days results, "the racing was good fun as usual and great to get two more race victories and a nice lot of points to extend my lead in the championship. I am really looking forward to the next round at Buxton Raceway next weekend."

Alfie has extended his lead in the 2020 championship standings to 90 points with three rounds left.
