THE number of Covid cases recorded by Winchester University has now gone into double figures, with 15 people testing positive since the start of term.
The university has said that eight people are currently self-isolating, with all cases said to be “unrelated”. Two people tested positive in the 24 hours up to 11am today (Thursday).
Seven previous cases have now completed their self-isolation and have recovered.
A university spokesperson has said: “We are continuing to work closely with NHS Test and Trace, Public Health England and our local authority partners.
“We are communicating directly with those who need to change their actions. If you do not hear from the university or from NHS Track and Trace there is no need to change your behaviour at this stage.
“The university remains open with students and staff, who have not been advised to self-isolate, attending as normal. Measures are in place to help keep the campus safe.”
