Tributes have been paid following the death of a long-serving Cirencester shop worker.

Gardiner Haskins has announced the loss of one of their longest serving members of staff, Lesley Lee.

As loyal customers of the store in Cirencester will know, Lesley worked on the Lewis Lane tills for nearly 20 years and was a key member of the Gardiner Haskins team.

Lesley fought cancer bravely for 10 years but lost her fight on October 15 aged 61.

Steve Whitcombe, retail director at Gardiner Haskins, said: “Lesley was a force to be reckoned with.

"She fought her initial cancer diagnosis and every battle since with great determination and an everlasting fighting spirit. She even cycled in our Cycle Challenge held in January to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Support Centre. She was a very well respected and well-loved member of our team by both customers and colleagues alike.

"She will be missed terribly.

"Our thoughts are with Lesley’s family and friends at this sad time."

Lesley always enjoyed dressing up and raising money for the charity's close to her heart, especially Maggie’s and Breast Cancer Now.

This Friday to honour Lesley the store will go ahead as planned with their annual “Wear It Pink” celebration by wearing pink to work to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
